Fisher House

The Fisher House was such a blessing for us when my husband had to have an early morning surgery. The room was very comfortable. The public areas were nicely appointed. The staff were simply stellar ! I am so appreciative we were able to stay which really took the stress out of traversing traffic. It is right next to the VA hospital and walking distance to Med Star and children’s.

You can help by booking a stay here and leaving a review! The more patrons, the more funding will be allocated for this vital service~ Please utilize the Fisher House if you have an early appointment the next morning and don't want to get caught in DMV traffic en route (you can book the night prior by contacting your medical team at the VA or requesting a social worker). It is open to veterans and other servicemembers who need a place to stay for medical or other appointments (i.e. Wounded Warrior). Fisher House in DC was such a blessing. My husband had to have a procedure done at the VA in DC. We were able to spend the night, so we could be at the hospital early the next morning. Absolutely beautiful facility. With anything you may need from food to hygiene products. The staff are very kind and helpful. What a wonderful place for veterans and their families.

This place was like a 5 star hotel. Very beautiful. My son had to have surgery and we were lucky enough to get accommodations at the fisher house. We were so thankful to be able to stay and not have to fight traffic for a 2 hour drive.

Fisher House was a true blessing to me. Extremely clean, fully stocked with everything you need from food/drinks to toothbrush/toothpaste to a peaceful night's rest. The staff was extremely hospitable. Plenty of privacy and literally right next to the hospital. It couldn't have been more convenient.
