I had my fifth baby with FMCC and it was a terrible experience. I went to the group specifically because they are a pro-life practice, but one of the midwives came in to one of my first appointments and went on and on about how high my risk was for having a baby with Down syndrome. She knew I already had a child with Down syndrome and seemed panicked on my behalf. It would seem it never occurred to her that I might not consider a baby with Down syndrome a tragedy. I emailed Dr. Stroud directly to tell him about the situation and how upsetting it was and I never heard a word back from him. When I needed repeat c-sections (the first was through a different provider, and I chose not to do a vbac due to other medical conditions), Dr. Stroud’s team showed me the huge difference in a gentle c-section. I was able to see my babies through a clear drape, hold them skin to skin with the help of my husband and nurses, and breastfeed in recovery. Their bedside manner is second to none, and aftercare is just as good. I see their NP, Sara, for my mental healthcare, and she is wonderful. Thank you for all you do for women and babies, FMCC!

My first encounter with Dr. Stroud was nearly 13 years ago, as a birth photographer, before the days of Fertility & Midwifery Care Center and Holy Family Birth Center. He was the OB on call for one of my mamas in labor, and while I was relatively new to birth work, I knew right away that there was something different and special about him. Unlike other obstetricians I had worked alongside, he was patient and unrushed. He quietly and calmly sat at my client’s bedside. He spoke gently and never disturbed the mother’s laboring environment. Instead of authoritative coached pushing, he patiently waited as she birthed her baby the way she needed to, all while giving her the encouragement she needed to bring her baby out. He is compassionate, highly skilled, and attentive, and I will continue to confidently refer patients to him. He is truly one of the best in the area. I am extremely disappointed with the care I received at this office from Dr. Cly. I came to him with a fibroid causing massive and ongoing blood loss that severely impacted my ability to function day to day. I was often confined to bed just to slow the bleeding, and my hemoglobin levels were repeatedly in the critical range. It got so bad I was sent to the ER for a blood transfusion. I’ve heard amazing things about this practice. After many failed attempts at HRT I gave them a try. I felt very encouraged and excited after talking with Dr. Cly. However, after I received pellet therapy I was greatly discouraged. It’s wonderful for many. A game changer. But my experience was horrendous. Despite androgynous symptoms and extreme anxiety, I was told my T was too low and my E was causing the symptoms. Bloodwork didn’t show my T low. Raising T with already androgynous symptoms seemed like a wrong move to me so I declined. I was also told by the NP that women without a uterus don’t need progesterone.
