I had a very frustrating experience with Family Dermatology. Before I could even schedule my appointment over the phone, I had to verify my insurance with the operator and send front and back pictures of my insurance card. My appointment was scheduled for 9:10 AM, and I arrived about 45 minutes early to check in. When I got there, they told me they were having trouble verifying my insurance and started calling from around 8:40 AM until about 9:20 AM. The front desk employee was sitting on hold the entire time trying to get it verified. I left work at 8:00 AM and only had a two-hour window to be seen and return to work, but I was never seen due to the insurance verification issue. We had a wonderful first visit at this office! We were kindly greeted and seen quickly. Dr. Barranco was so calming and sweet with my 4 year old. She did an excellent job taking her time to make her comfortable. She was also extremely knowledgeable and professional. We look forward to future visits with her and I happily recommend her to patients of all ages, especially children!

I felt quite neglected by Dr. Clara Barranco as she seemed unfocused and disinterested during my appointment. She appeared to be more concerned with instructing her assistant than listening to me. It felt as though I was just another patient to quickly examine, with little personal attention given. Despite having BCBS insurance, I still had to pay a $108 co-pay for a brief 15-minute visit. Overall, a disappointing experience.
