Family Care Associates - GBMC Primary Care

I’ve been coming to this practice for about four years and have been seeing Dr. Andrews, who is kind and a great primary care doctor. Unfortunately, my experience with the administrative side of the practice has become increasingly frustrating and really reflects the downsides of large, corporate-style medical groups. I had to reschedule my annual exam in April due to last-minute work travel. When I called to move the appointment, the earliest time I was offered with Dr. Andrews was in October—eight months later. I explained that an appointment that far out doesn’t really function as an annual exam. What was most disappointing was that I wasn’t offered a waitlist option or any alternative within the practice. I’ve had the exact same experience as others with the phone system. After 20 minutes on hold, the call dropped. There’s no option for leaving a message so you’re at their mercy, & have no choice but to listen to the highly repetitive fast paced piano music that made me more uptight as I listened over & over!!! I’m again on hold and getting headache now. Is anyone even there? This doesn’t happen with my doctors at Mercy. Just saying….. I called the phone number that GBMC told Kyla Fryman to use & there is no department head!! Joke is on us!!! Update: thankfully I got transferred to the back line and was helped. GbMC, update your system so that it works for patients!!!

Like many others, this negative review is not about medical care at this practice and rather, getting through on the phone. For some reason, this office has ceased to respond to any messages or appointment requests via MyChart, which leaves calling as the only way to make contact. Whatever call system they are now using is absolutely ridiculous. Anytime I call, I am on hold for a minimum of 10-15 minutes (usually longer), and on several occasions it sounded like the call connected to an employee and then just dropped. It should not be this difficult to speak with a medical office.

Let me begin by saying this review is not about the medical care, it is about the inability to get a phone response. How can patients/family members seek care if there is totally inadequate phone communication. I had an ill family member who uses this practice. I made an attempt to schedule service by the phone. The first time I called I was on hold for at least 18 minutes, then the call dropped. I phoned a second time and was on hold for another 10 minutes. I finally was so frustrated that I gave up. I decided to try the Padonia Urgent Care and was able to have my call taken in a very short time. This practice, needs to investigate why calls are not answered within a 10 to15 minute window. This is very poor customer service. in closing, I see that others have had this same experience.

This facility is extremely rude a lady named Deja answer the phone when I said hello do you accept my insurance? They didn’t even respond to me. She just hung up on me. I do not recommend this place. please read the other reviews.
