She took me as a walk in on the 23rd of December to do a problem type visit/ exam without hesitation. She was great with the exam and determined it was a good probability that I had a viral infection in left eye. Very polite and easy to talk with because of my very complicated health status. I will be seeing her again after first of year for infection followup and to complete regular exam for new glasses.
I was very pleased with my visit(s) to Dr Schmidt. I had not been to the eye doctor for about 7 years. She took her time doing the exam. I also really enjoyed talking to her. She listened and addressed any questions/concerns. She also took time to explain to me things that can change with our eyes as we age. I am in my 40s and the things she described do seem to be occuring. After my glasses were made I was having trouble seeing things up close out of them (I am nearsited). We think this is due to one of the age related changes that she described. A second exam showed that the rx was the same as what was in the rx she had written. I am right on the line of needing bifocals. She said that we could try to back down my rx a bit. It would make it easier to see up close but I would lose a bit
Just had the best experience with Dr. Schmidt such a sweet lady, very knowledgeable, efficient and thorough. If you’re looking for an eye doctor in the area, check her out. You will not be disappointed.!!!
Super friendly, caring, thorough, and more than willing to answer my questions. I had not been to an eye doctor for 30 years and she made sure I was comfortable and that I understood my situation. I will definitely recommend Dr Schmidt to everyone I can.
Where do I start! I’ve lived in several countries and have worn glasses for 3 decades and Dr. Schmidt has been the best I’ve ever dealt with. She recently moved from Charlottesville to Staunton to run her own practice, but she’s worth driving an hour to get a thorough checkup. Karen is methodical and extremely empathetic. Get on her books and you’ll never look back…👀
