Endocrinology of Central Florida

The back of office staff is wonderful as always. I have been a patient for over 15 years. I go at the same time as my 88 year old mother as she is unable to drive. We make our appointments a year in advance and make them back to back with the same provider. Image my dismay when I show up today for our appointments and my moms is with our usual provider but mine is with someone else. I know when we scheduled after our visit last year they were with the same provider as always. Why an office would change a patients appointment to another provider without contacting the patient first to ensure it is okay or give them the opportunity to reschedule to another day is beyond me. I would be extremely nervous when thinking of becoming a patient with this practice. I began as a patient a few years back , struggled with them with respect and also communication. They also dropped my insurance with Florida Healthcare as well So I took time away from them as I search for a diffent doctor. After letting them know I would need to order prescription again, I they said I would need to make a check up appointment which I agreed to and set. They said they would send me refills to the pharmacy Once again they failed to do this simple task. Which led to me without insulin. After calling them the manger reached back out to me with excuses of how they didn’t know what happened. And it was probably my fault since I hadn’t been to see them. If I can give it a negative score I would, I visited this office and follow the strict diet and medication a month later I was in the ICU for three days due to the diet I was placed on, I never saw the doctor again and kept seeing a nurse practitioner. I was with them for a year, I advised them in advance I was going to be alittle late and they said they wouldn’t accommodate me. Went in and was hit with a 50 dollar late fee even though I advised them. I went in and was prescribed medication last visit and they want to charge 25 dollars for them to contact the insurance company for authorization. This is an updated review. After having multiple issues with no luck resolving I submitted a negative review and got a call the next day from the office by Carolyn, the office admin. She apologized for the problems I was having, solved the issue and gave me instructions on how to get immediate assistance in the future. I appreciate the effort on the part of Endocrinology of Central Florida.

I went in for a thyroid aspiration. The thought of a needle going into your neck isn’t appealing and can be terrifying but I can honestly say it was nearly painless. The nurses there are outstanding and the Ultrasound tech is so calming, you feel like you are with friends. Dr. Metchick is extremely good at his job and I literally only felt a prick and then a second prick when he had to go back in. The whole procedure was less than 5 minutes. If you are questioning getting it done or freaking out, I am here to say don’t!!! The procedure is seriously so easy and pain free. They also called me almost exactly 2 weeks later with results like they said, and she was also extremely helpful with all of my questions. I highly recommend this practice. Kristina Barber
