Emergency Room at Valley Regional Medical Center

From the fist day to the last day, the service was great. Very nice caring staff. The experience with ER was fast and easy. All around, the nurses and doctors were very helpful. The Labor & Delivery department was 💯 The staff are very attending to every patient. From morning shift staff to the night shift, everyone gave their best service. I truly can say that I had a great experience ☺️ I felt cared and safe. My nurses were very helpful and wonderful 🫶 Was in pain and scared but my health was in great hands 🙏🏻 Was truly blessed to have all those caring people attended to my needs. Highly appreciated every single person that helped me. The food was great, the hospitality was amazing. Totally recommend 👌

I’m from MO. and developed a UTI on our way to TX. The Care that I just received from your hospital was absolutely perfect. Everybody was super kind super helpful very fast very efficient. Let me know everything that was going on what they were doing how they were gonna help me I couldn’t say enough about what a wonderful hospital you have here in the Rio grand Valley. Jessie, Annel, Dr Veronica was outstanding as well as the rest of my health care team.

The 3 stars are for the nurses only. The treatment I received was negligent, dehumanizing and stigmatizing. On January 20 I arrived at the Emergency Department in extreme pain and vomiting due to active contractions during a miscarriage. Despite my condition, Practitioner Rogelio R. Ortiz displayed a complete lack of professional ethics and empathy. He entered my room and coldly stated, 'We saw the ultrasound; there’s nothing there. You lost the baby,' before immediately walking out. He provided zero emotional support and failed to verbally explain any post-miscarriage medical care or instructions. Furthermore, I wish to address several grave violations of my rights as a patient: A diagnosis of 'Cannabis use disorder' was added to my permanent medical record without ever being discussed

My experience by the ER doctor(s), and nurses was exceptional. They were courteous, personable, sensitive to my situation, and very professional. My experience after the ER on the other floor was not as good.

At the age of 67 I have seen my share of ER's over the years. The experience at Valley Regional Medical Center, treating my mom for multiple issues, was nothing short of amazing. I witnessed perfectly synchronized visits as multiple EMT / ambulance units arrived, doctors being assigned and nurses jumping into action. It was a very busy Saturday afternoon with all beds in the ER being occupied but the atmosphere was cool, calm and collected. BRAVO great job to the ER team in serving our community!
