Emergency Department and Level II Trauma Center at Vassar Brothers Medical Center

Absolutely the worse emergency department I’ve ever experienced. Highway robbery of your insurance. You will wait so long for absolutely the worst service. Rather be discharged and sent home than to wait 8 hours in a waiting room with uncomfortable seating .

I tell you what this used to be. One of the best hospitals to go to now, even if you're brought in by an ambulance which I was They still triage you in the main area and make you wait in the waiting room. They have all these people in the waiting room with ivs and other injuries. And there's no privacy, where is the hippaThey really need to change the way they treat the patients it is ridiculous. They have all these rooms in the back. Empty all the time, in the meantime.You're giving everybody's information to everybody.You need to change things vassar

Yes, the waiting time is very long between tests, and parking is difficult to find at times. BUT, the staff and care were so hospitable, so knowledgeable, I really cannot thank them enough!

One of the worst experiences I've ever had at an ER. I went to the trauma center with a hypertensive crisis with a BP over 220/120 due to a severe allergic reaction to medication. I sat in the ER waiting room for 7 years at that level of BP. It was only when I asked them to recheck my BP because I wanted to leave that I got a room and treatment since my BP went higher to 230/120. During that 7 hours they took blood, did a chest x-ray, and EKG but not once did they address lowering my BP for 7 hours until I finally got a room where they administered an IV blood pressure medication that drove it down 60 points in less than an hour. Truly unbelievable and total negligence on their part. Never going back.

I had a terrible car accident and came Into the ER trauma. From the moment I entered until I was discharged I had an amazing experience. Every person was professional and kind and they were very thorough. This is not my first experience there as my mother has dementia and we have made several trips there. Each visit was extraordinarily wonderful
