Elliot Urgent Care at River's Edge

I used to recommend the Elliot to everyone I know, it was out of the way considering there are closer options to me but because my previous visits were outstanding I would prefer travelling further for the better care they once offered. My most recent visit has been one of my worst experiences I have ever had. I went in the most severely ill I have ever been, and I felt staff that day had little to no compassion - which didn't bother me at the time as I was barely coherent and struggled through faint spells. I had labs done and an ultrasound, and once the results were back they told me it was likely a GI issue because all my results came back normal and discharged me. On my discharge papers it noted my spleen was enlarged but not alarmingly so and to follow up with my pcp, so my ultrasound

I do not wish to spread more negativity than there already exists in our lives by sharing the details of my recent unpleasant and humiliating visit. The 3.4 average stars, my single star rating, along with the stories already shared by others provides enough information for on-looking potential patients. If you are in need of urgent care, I strongly recommend traveling an 10 extra minutes to Convenient MD in Bedford. I have received outstanding care from the kind and professional staff there. The only downfall is that they have fewer resources/equipment. I went there before the Elliot, and the people at Convenient MD told me that, given my symptoms, I was better off at Elliot Urgent Care because they had more equipment.

Honestly, I brought my daughter in because her teachers had some concerns about hands foot and mouth so I brought her in just to be cautious and she was having some retractable breathing which the nurse herself before we went into a room said she could see retractable breathing, they test her for a Covid, the flu, RSV, etc., walking my infant around the room while she’s crying I can hear them laugh and say everything came back negative. I told you everything would come back negative honestly very unprofessional. The doctor himself was very kind when he came in but they also did not check her throat or her ears when she was there as well. Come to find out she had an ear infection the next day being tested at convenient, MD

DO NOT go here if you are needing Urgent Care -Walk In office type care. This walk in is a scam. It is called Urgent Care, but then they will bill your insurance as an "Emergency Visit at Elliot Hospital", charging higher contracted rates with your insurer and making you pay into your deductible. The loss to you, if you have insurance is that it bypasses your office co-pay (usually $50 or $100) and triggers your hospital deductible. So, for instance, instead of paying your usual $50 office co-pay for a meeting in-office with a PA and a strep test (what I got), they name an attending MD (who you never see or hear of), call it a hospital emergency visit, overcharge, and then you get charged for a hospital visit instead of an office walk in visit. This is the hospital to go if it's something small to medium being wrong. If you come here the wait is one tenth of the big hospitals. I've been here 15 times probably and got one bad nurse. All the doctors were good. Down side is there not open 24hrs and can't do everything a hospital can
