Elkview General Hospital

What a surprise. I had outpatient surgery and had no idea what to expect & of course the reviews aren't great. My husband and I both agree we were completely impressed. Yes it's an older building with nothing fancy you might find in a new big city hospital but that's not a deal breaker. Especially, because they have done an amazing job at keeping this place so clean. I had my own room for pre & post op. Another surprise because at big hospitals I've always been crammed with several other patients. The staff is so friendly. Everyone we talked to has worked there for many years. We treated great from the moment we walked in. My surgery started on time, again something that we aren't used to. I was in and out in 4hrs. Not surgery, checked in and walked out in 4hrs. Took my 14 year old grandson to the ER for an arm injury. ER nurses were awesome, radiology tech was great!! ER provider who saw him was also great. Everything was taken care of in a very timely and professional manner!! I don’t live in the area, but if I did I would definitely go back if needed.

My husband was recently in the ER and was seen by Dr. Jeffrey Phillips. His nurse was Katie. I want to say that my husband received the best care from not only the Dr but all the nursing staff. Very accurate and very caring. Dr. Phillips was not only concerned about my husband but explained everything about what needed to be done and responded to get everything my husband needed . I highly recommend this hospital because we were treated not only professionally but treated as a person too and not just a number on a chart!

The er charge nurse being so rude is the reason I want go back to there er. I went to the wrong door and she got all bent out of shape and takes to me like a dog. It was uncalled for. She cost the hospital patients the need. The rest of the staff was professional

I had gotten serotonin syndrome by accident, and Brooke was so helpful about asking if I could still take meds she was a lifesaver.!!
