Elixir Pharmacy

This company has closed down for Part D Rx's so this review no longer matters. Revised Oct 27, 2020: I would change my star rating to 3 stars from the 4 showing, but the interface won't let me. I've had reasonable service from this co's mail pharmacy for the three years I've used their Medicare D plan's mail order option. The only issues I have with them is having to repeat my birthday verbally every time I call them to ask a simple general question after having already had to key in the same info as directed by their phone-tree prompt before getting through to their cust serv. rep. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! The sheer incompetence of these people is staggering! They will not contact you if there is a problem with refills from the Dr. so you can step in. I asked for my RX to be overnighted yesterday because it had taken 8 days for them to get a refill from the Dr. Today I get an email stating that the RX was mailed USPS regular mail. When I finally get my meds in the mail I will have been without for 20 days. I know that this was not a problem with the Dr because the nurse called me to let me know that the Dr had approved the refill.

Insurances are hard to deal with. But they don't have to be. And they shouldn't be. A medication I need requires prior authorization. Elixir states they sent it to my doctor. The doctor states they never received it. I asked for a copy of the form to help but they said they will not provide one. I wanted the form so I could make an appointment and have the doctor or their staff fill it out and fax it back during my appointment time. I can not think of a logical reason as to why they can not provide me with a copy of the form. I have been trying for 4 months to get authorization for a medicine to help me feel better, get better and life a healthier life. The first medicine was denied. I'm not sure why so many people have been giving my favorite pharmacy poor ratings. I always get my prescriptions in a timely manner (usually 2-3 business days even though their policy is 7-10 business days). If there's a delay it's actually typically my doctor's office that was the issue. I just make sure I have valid refills, that my prescriptions are for a 90 day supply, and that I call between 8am-5pm EST. But I guess it's probably true most people only review if there's a problem.

I've been trying to get a prescpription filled for more than 2 months. My health insurance co recently entered into a contract with them so I had to switch from America's Pharmacy. Depsite more than 4 hours of hold time and phone calls, they still cannot seem to get this filled. It's a poorly run company with bad communication. The last customer service rep I talked to did everything she could but she could still not resolve the issue. My husband has received his medication - we're on the same policy etc. I just don't understand what the problem is. My doctor has called in the prescription etc. I'm going elsewhere.
