I went to the Moyock office - hands down the best experience I've ever had in going to the dentist. First, any issues with insurance were figured out before the appointment. Everyone was professional and courteous when I presented. I immediately felt at ease and I was astounded by the care and kindness they have towards their patients - not only with me, but others that walked through their doors. They truly care and the dentist, dental assistant, and hygienist made what was just a dentist appointment into something fun and informative. I called today about a mouthguard and didn't reach the Moyock office (and didn't leave a voicemail) but called the Chesapeake office. The office staff is horrible at scheduling and notifying you. It took several months to schedule my wife's first appointment in 2025. After that appointment and becoming an established patient, Edinburgh Family Dentistry in Chesapeake could not schedule her next appointment until 2026. She asked them, aren't cleaning supposed to be every six months? This office said yes, but they do not have any availability, and my wife could be put on a cancellation list for an early appointment. When it came time for my wife's appointment this February 2026, this dentist's office called my wife three hours before her appointment and said her hygienist was out sick and they had to cancel her appointment. She asked about seeing another hygienist, and they told her they are short-staffed. Edinburgh Family

Edinburgh Family Dentistry canceled my appointment the morning of because someone called off, then offered to reschedule me a year away. A full year. Because of this, I’m unable to use the dental benefits I pay for. When I expressed concern, the receptionist’s response was essentially, “just move to another practice then.” No accountability, no effort to help, and no regard for patients who have been loyal and helped build this practice over time. Patients shouldn’t be penalized for staffing issues, especially with same-day cancellations and unreasonable rescheduling timelines. Completely unacceptable.

I had my first appointment at new office today. Emma the dental hygienist was amazing. Friendly, made sure I was comfortable, Myko was helpful and so accommodating getting my husband in for his appointment. Everyone at this location seems to genuinely enjoy their job. I would highly recommend this dental office.
