Edgewater Modern Dentistry

I’m really disappointed to be writing this review. I have a dentist phobia so when I first visited Edgewater Modern Dentistry, I was relieved that everyone seemed so nice and it was an enjoyable experience even with getting 2 fillings. The first visit I was there for 2.5 hours, no cleaning done, most of it waiting. They told me I needed a deep clean and I made it clear I needed to book the whole mouth it one appt because work and I didn’t expect the first appt to take so long. Cut to day of, I’m running a few minutes late for personal reasons I don’t want to share here and I called right at 8am to say I’ll be there in 5 minutes. I get to the desk at 8:07am and she tells me that because of the time constraint they might not be able to do the whole mouth and would probably have to break it u

My wife got two crowns put in and then was just told that she needed two more. She got suspicious when she was told they were running a “special on crowns” - what dentist discounts basic dental services? She went to get a second opinion and the other dentist tried to be polite but could not find any reason for crowns and was stifling his clear belief that there was a scam here. Now we have to wonder if those first two crowns were needed. Ugh. I would at least get a second opinion if they suggest major work. Shameful.

Dr. Lex is my favorite! She really takes the time to listen and explain everything. She makes the experience at the dentist so comfortable. She's got a great team behind her as well. Highly recommend coming to her!

I can’t say enough great things about my experience with Dr. Lex. From the moment I walked in, she made me feel completely at ease. She’s incredibly friendly, takes the time to explain everything clearly, and has an attention to detail that shows how much pride she takes in her work. It’s rare to find someone who combines such deep technical skill with genuine warmth and care for her patients. Every appointment has been smooth, professional, and far more pleasant than I ever thought a dental visit could be. I’m extremely thankful for the quality of care Lex provides and truly trust her with my smile.

Constant turnover of employees means you’ll never see the same provider twice. On my last visit the hygienist, Kyndra, fresh out of dental school, rolled her eyes and pouted when she was asked to move nitrous equipment from one room to another. Then she didn’t know how to operate the equipment. The xray tech couldn’t keep the machine straight and kept touching unsanitary items before putting her hands back in my mouth. This place is a Private Equity owned nightmare disguised as a local dentist office. I’d recommend going elsewhere.
