East Carolina Rehab and Wellness

Facility is in the middle of renovations and form what I’ve seen they are doing remarkable. The new ownership has really set a precedent on clean, friendly and overall enjoyment for each resident. Nothing but smiles and kindness from every single person I’ve encountered here. This place is on the way to being a top tier rehab and assisted living facility in the area!

Had the pleasure of meeting new Activity Director, Liz yesterday. Great energy and personality. Going to be a fun place for your loved ones.

Do your loved ones a favor and avoid this place at all cost. My mother fell at this facility 3 times. Had to be hospitalized each time. The last fall caused her to be in the hospital for a month and she ended up passing away. The stars that are rated over 1 have to be family members of the staff because ain’t no damn way! This place needs to be shut down. You know exactly who you are! I will not rest until I have all the answers I need!

The physical and occupational therapy staff are very helpful with rehabilitation therapy. Some of the best employees here were the CNA s who did the brunt of the work of patient care 24/7. I have nothing but the highest respect for these women who cared for me during my stay. The nurses were helpful as well. My only concern there was the rudeness shown by the Nursing Director. She yelled at me in front of several people when I asked to go home . It was Christmas time and she didn’t have a doctor on staff to officially clear me so she insisted I had to stay an additional 5 days for the doctor to return from holiday. She is not to be confused with Gwen- who was very helpful with all the paperwork, insurance etc.

ECU Rehabilitation definitely needs some major upgrades, but I want to take a moment to recognize the few staff members who truly keep this place going. My grandmother is currently a resident, and while she’s not impressed with most of the staff (especially the cooks—burnt food way too often), she absolutely loves Quincy, the assistant kitchen supervisor. She says he treats her like family, and honestly, she only eats when he’s around. Office staff like Dora and Juanita are incredibly kind and responsive, and Gwen is nothing short of amazing. When the administrator is dismissive or unhelpful, Gwen always steps in and handles things with care and professionalism. She’s been there a long time, and I pray she never leaves because I have multiple family members at this facility. On the flip
