Review for Duke Health Pediatric Care: Good care but crappy billing practices. Has happened to us twice.. Went for sick visit - same day walkin appointment. This is how it plays out: Sr. doctor will have a trainee doctor/student accompanying them (sick visit or preventive care annual visit - does not matter). Doctor spends half the time with patient and half with student explaining them the diagnosis. Both doctor and the student EACH listen to the chest, check the ears, eyes, feel the stomach, etc. I have no problem with that. Trainee/student doctors need to learn hands-on. So far so good! But when you get the bill - you are in for a surprise!! First time they charged for 45-60 mins ICD code - $600 billed - negotiated rate $400 This time they charged for 30 mins of care ICD code -

This review is more specific to scheduling and also the irresponsibility of Doctor Eckensweiler and the staff. I’ve scheduled an appointment to meet Dr. Eckensweiler almost a week ago. And one of the associate helped me to schedule this. And just a few hours before the appointment I’ve been informed that I should meet a PA and not the doctor. And they asked me to reschedule the appointment without any proper reason. This is the most ridiculous service a patient or a parent can expect from this medical service. I won’t recommend this doctor and hospital.

This was my first time coming to this Duke location. Yesterday, Yvonne made my first visit unforgettable with her unparalleled sweetness and kindness. She genuinely cared and took the time to inquire about my day and wished me a happy early birthday. Thank you for showing kindness!

Traditionally unlike other countries....in the states an "Urgent Care" has a different meaning...more like..you get there urgently and then wait for hours to see someone!! For an appointment that was booked earlier...I'd gotten there early as mentioned...An hr later...I've had vitals taken for 5mins and back in the waiting room!!!! Hoping someone helps out with the actual problem.. God help those who are in conditions far worse than mine or in unbearable pain....

The pediatrician (level 2) and the OBGYN (Level 3) are great! I drive 30 minutes to get to my doctor's appointment because everyone here is so sweet and helpful
