Duane Reade Pharmacy

I had to pick up an antitussive for a cough I had. The staff told me it would take 20 mins to prepare. I ended up waiting 50 mins without any prescription. I ended up leaving and got a text 2 hours later that my medication is ready. Everyone who walked in after me got out before me. The staff is also very rude and make it seem like it’s an inconvenience that they need to do their job.

The worst pharmacy!!!!!!! The worst pharmacy experience—every single month. I went to pick up my medication today, which my doctor sent over last week. They knew about it. It should’ve been ready. Instead, I waited over an hour—again. This isn’t a one-time issue. Every month, it’s the same story: I show up, and I wait. And wait. And wait. It’s exhausting, unacceptable, and completely avoidable.

Great local Duane Reade. It has a variety of items and great selection. The staff here are very helpful and kind. The location is convenient to the tram, subway and the ferry. The pharmacist is quite helpful and kind and they make sure to go over anything before you leave. Also, they are especially prompt with filing or refilling anything. Plus, if you have to wait, there is a lovely park right outside and a couple of different restaurants or the riverwalk to just hang out at for those minutes.

I usually don't write reviews for pharmacies. But this is the best pharmacy I have used! Two pharmacist here (Valerie and Kevin) are very professional and friendly. They can remember your medical conditions. They pick up phone calls and answer all your questions. They explain clearly about how to use the meds and explain the possible side effects. During evening shift, they also have two staffs here to make the line move faster. I highly recommend this pharmacy to anyone on Roosevelt Island.

It feels like the stuff doesn’t want to work there, specially in the pharmacy. They aren’t respecting people time . I was picking up somthing for a sick friend and they told me it’ll take 15 min I left for 15 min and then they closed for lunch break. I came back again after 30 min and then they told me they haven’t started yet so it’ll take 15 min. I’ll find out what’s her name and complain to Duane reade.
