Duane Reade Pharmacy

EVERY time I come here there is an issue with my prescription. It's always 3 hurdles to jump through. The staff can never explain the "insurance issue." One time they actually told me that my doctor canceled the prescription for a medication that I have been on for 20 years. I verified with my doctor who said he absolutely NEVER canceled that script. They do NOT know what they are doing and no one seems to care. Staff in not pleasant, but they must have lots of disgruntled customers to deal with. I've never had issues with previous pharmacies. JUST THIS PLACE. AVOID IT IF YOU CAN!

This pharmacy is very strange, our prescriptions have disappeared multiple times. Medication was dennied my doctor had to sent the same prescription twice in 3 ocassions the last week. Something really wrong is happening here and I wonder what that is. The young gentelman was the onlyone who was willing to help us. We are gretful to him.

Clearly ZERO sense of professionalism, or duty of care to patients, from the pharmacists here. My prescription was sent on Friday, and they didn’t bother to fill it until Sunday afternoon—and by the time I was able to get there to pick it up (had to trudge a bit over a mile through the big Jan. 25th snowstorm that is still ongoing as I type this) they had CLOSED EARLY! Just walked off the job and left a note on the window saying they left at 4pm “because of winter weather”, as though that’s any sort of excuse to close a pharmacy that people rely on for life-saving medicines—it’s in a heated building btw; it’s not like they were camped out in the cold—and they only left two hours early to boot, so they screwed people like myself who rely on their “services” just so they could leave work *sl

Not only they are unresponsive to patients when you try to call and check for a refill status, they are also unresponsive to nearby pharmacies that are kindly trying to get your prescription transferred for you so they can actually fulfill the order from your doctor. Awful service.

Unfortunately, just like 1 Bad Apple can Spoil the Whole Bunch (behind the Counter)..., FORTUNATELY a "Kostas" CSR will emerge and Save the Day twice for Elderly Duane Reade customers, SIMPLY by "Caring" enough to Proactively ACT OBO of those in need of Real Care and Customer Service
