Dr. PM Sleep and Wellness Medical Center - Dr. Pegah Mashayekhi

The healthcare I received at my first visit with Dr. Pegah Maheyekhi, AKA Dr. PM, well exceeded more than a decade of care at UCSD. First of all, no practitioner had ever given me a thorough anatomical exam during my prior treatment for sleep issues, including three sleep studies, from the UCSD sleep clinic in UTC. Dr. PM talked through my sleep problem history, reviewed my sleep study results, and did a thorough exam of my throat, nose, and jaw. Instead of debating CPAP that I was rejecting, she gave walked me through different therapeutic options and how likely they would work for me based on my results and anatomy. Amazing! I went home and immediately started to pursue her suggestions. I’ve already had a much better night of sleep last night. Dr. PM put me on a path to evaluating

I've had a positive experience with the doc but in general, it feels like there's absolutely zero urgency on their end to actually treat my sleeping issues. This is made worse by their admin on phone calls appearing to lack tracking of basic details like... when they last saw me or when my sleep study was held (which they requested). Here's a timeline of my experience: * May 23, 2025: first reached out to schedule an appt * July 16, 2025: first appt * Aug 2025: second appt + at-home sleep study * Sep 10, 2025: third appt, diagnosed with severe sleep apnea * Oct 1, 2025: received APAP machine * Dec 3, 2025: fourth appt because APAP was only hindering my sleep; no follow-up from them in between Oct-Dec, had to schedule appt because I still couldn't sleep. * Feb 2, 2026: in-person sleep stud

Dr. PM and her team are truly fantastic, and I’m grateful to have found them. Dr. PM always puts my health first and has given me the clear, practical guidance I needed to start living a healthier lifestyle. Dr. Mashayekhi has been treating me for insomnia for two years now. She really listens and makes me feel comfortable. I've learned a lot about sleep cycles and how to manage my symptoms so that I'm no longer frustrated at night.
