I would not recommend this dentist, or any practice within the Smile Generation network. My wife and I have used more than one of their offices and have had consistent issues that raise serious concerns about honesty, diagnosis accuracy, and billing practices. Questionable periodontal diagnosis Prior to joining Smile Generation, my teeth had consistently been described by other dentists as exemplary in terms of hygiene. However, at more than one Smile Generation location in San Diego, multiple hygienists over a 2–3 year period diagnosed me with moderate to advanced periodontitis, citing numerous 4–5 mm pocket depths and even a 6 mm pocket, primarily on my rear teeth. This Modern Dentistry location has always provided the best experience you can have when visiting the dentist. Michelle, the dental hygienist, is amazing. She really listened to my concerns and explained everything clearly. Jonathan at the front desk is extremely helpful. He walked me through my insurance coverage and made sure I could understand all my options. This made the whole process stress free. Great team and experience. Would recommend.

I recently moved to San Diego and needed to find a new dentist. During my check-up, I found out I needed a root canal and deep cleaning because my previous dentist hadn’t followed up properly. From the moment I arrived, the front desk staff were so friendly and helpful in explaining the cost of each procedure. Jonathan helped me go over the payment options, and Elena confirmed the final amount clearly. Dr. Bhatt was professional, kind, and patient—she took the time to answer all my questions thoroughly. Letivia and Erica assisted me with X-rays and preparation, and they made me feel completely comfortable. When I had my deep cleaning with Michelle, I knew my oral health was in good hands. Haven’t been to dentist in ten years and the staff was super nice and welcoming. Elena is an absolute doll, William is highly personable and Doctor Bhatt was an angel! They all made my first return back to the dreaded dentist a breeze. Doctor Bhatt is by far the best dentist I’ve come across. My former dentists were absolute brutes. Doctor Bhatt is heaven sent, calming and gentle. She leaves you with such a sense of ease. Looking forward to gentle dental care as opposed to the aforementioned brutes who tried shoving their whole fists in my mouth while handling sharp tools at every chance they got!

Dr. Kaila is very professional, informative, and well educated. The staff here is very personable from the reception, to the x-ray technician I worked with, Veronica, to my hygienist, Elena. The staff was very welcoming, helpful, and not pushy on certain procedures. The cleaning and x-rays have been some of the quickest yet thorough I’ve received. Their online booking systems and forms are easy to use and efficient. The charges and coverages are transparent and they are great at providing cost effective care. I don’t know too many people that look forward to dentist appointments but I’m excited to come back in 6 months and check my progress!
