Douglas T. Hutchinson

Dr Hutchinson is a specialist that treats you with respect and grace as he examines your hand. He is thorough and tells you in detail what he will do and what outcome to expect. I have come to Dr Hutchinson for the last 10 years, travelling from my home first in WA state and now MT because I have complete confidence I will receive the best care even though I am now 73 years old.

Dr. Hutchinson is a great person, he explains everything to me in detail before my hand surgery. He is very easy to talk to about any concerns, he has a great sense of humor. I highly recommend him.

It WAS my neck, doctor. Told you. Suffered 15 yrs. Blamed on my hand. Hand is fine now after being saved with what I indeed needed..ACDF. pfft! :/

When letting Dr. Hutchinson know that we are not proceeding with an unnecessary surgery that poses a high risk of less functionality in our child’s hand, and are open to the possibility of our child deciding differently in his teenage years, he said: “This isn’t something you can shirk parental responsibility on.” This is rude, condescending, and completely unacceptable. We are making a life changing decision for our child and opting to not proceed with surgery that poses significant risks and has a long history of being unsuccessful. His bedside manner is unacceptable and we’ll be seeing another orthopedic surgeon.

Dr. Hutchinson is one of the best doctors I know, has a great reputation as being one of the best hand surgeons acording to people I know he operated. He was casual and straight forward, he explained clearly my hands condition and choices of treatment.
