Digestive Health Specialists: Briarcliff

I was referred by my Primary Care Doctor for a Colonoscopy. I was made to schedule a consultation. When scheduling same, I gave my insurance over the phone and was told my copay would be $50. I get to my appointment. I was again asked for my insurance . After they ran it, I was informed my copay is now $100. Mind you, this is about two weeks after I scheduled over the phone. Then, I meet with the nurse practitioner for my 'consult' and they ask me a few very basic questions that I truly feel could have been asked over the phone or via email and after maybe five minutes, I am informed that I don't need a colonoscopy. I voiced my frustration to tell them that I felt like they could implement a better screening method to filter out unnecessary consults but my concerns were diminished complete

I really miss before this place got bought out by a conglomerate :( I used to be able to just call the office and talk to someone or the nurse, Ginnie, who would always help me. Now I get a far off call center which takes 45 minutes to connect me and continually tells me to hang up and text via their stupid messaging app instead. No, I want to talk to a person :( I got new insurance on the new year and can't figure out how to get my medication refilled through them. Can't reach my doctor at all, just a stupid text message 'Hi we got your inquiry we'll respond in 24 hours :)' no response. Still don't have my meds and I'm running out and if I run out it throws out years of progress. I'm desperate and tired. I miss when this was a private practice. Do any of those exist anymore?

Kristina Holecek is awesome! I had my first appointment with her today, and she was professional, informative, kind, and very thorough. She explains things simply, in a way that's easy to understand. She developed a plan on the spot for diagnostics and treatment, and wrote everything down for me so I wouldn't forget. Looking forward to continuing to work with her!

This place tells you to be here 30 minutes early only to have you wait more than 30 minutes past your appointment to see you. If you maintain any schedule you might be better off going else where... Otherwise you better block off a couple hours... This is nonsense.

Very professional! Have always appreciated Dr. Schnell’s expertise. And miss his nurse, Ginnie, who retired. But I also have come to appreciate the new staff and the efficiency in administering my meds. Excellent work!!
