Desert Highlands Care Center

My wife was in this place for about 3 weeks they lost her clothes and they lost her medicine that i took in so they could see what she was taking. The nurse's were good but the people that make sure they had clean beds and clean clothes on were not even close to being any good at all. They said that my wife clothes were messed in so they put them in the trash that is a 100% lie she never even put them on because they keep her in diapers because she couldn't go to the bathroom I just got them for her at Walmart and her shirt was never even worn i had just gotten her clothes from Walmart and how could she have messed in her shirt someone wanted them because they were new and did not think anyone would miss them. All I have gotten is the run around I am going to report them to who ever I can.

I want to take a moment to discuss Desert Highlands. We're pretty new in town and with my husband in the hospital I needed to choose a rehab facility for him. The Admissions Director took all the time I needed to answer questions and take a tour. I quietly observed the staff. Being very judgemental and an advocate for my husband I made THE BEST choice. When I faced the hardest decision of all…to place him permanently Desert Highlands is the only facility I would except. You'll find someone cleaning ALL THE TIME, activities calendar posted and the doors thrown open to welcome visitors and pets. The sign says they love what they do…You'll see it's true.

Avoid at all costs sending a loved one here. A staff member took it upon themselves to convince my wife that doctors in 3 states after 8 years of looking for reasons and had no idea of the cause that her illness and disabilities are all my fault. Literally no supervision of the patients, and apparently no supervision of the staff either.

Desert Highlands Administrative staff bent over backwards to help get my son moved from Palm Springs to Kingman for me. The couple weeks he has been there he has improved more in the couple weeks than he has the whole year. The staff is caring and very helpful. They threw a beautiful Mother’s Day luncheon that my son and I both enjoyed very much. I’m grateful & feel very blessed that my son is in good hands.

I found my Grandmother in this facility after some family drama. After reading the reviews I was expecting a horror show. But it was not. I think it's as good a place as it can be with the monies it gets. It is not top of the line but it isn't a pit either. It has some high maintenance patients which seem to take a lot attention. All of the staff were very nice, helpful and compassionate. My grandmother had been there over 2 years and some of the staff genuinely cared for her. They answered my questions and made my visits as easy as possible. They never denied me access to her. I think there probably is a lot of turn over in the lower staff positions. But there were many that have worked there for a long time. Over all this place isn't terrible. It is what it is. A sad place where old peop
