Denver Health: Westside Dental Clinic at Westside Family Health Center

!HOURS need to change Closes at 5-5:30 NOT 6! Parking lot is also confusing first time there. Toll booth has no purpose? Services are good. Took off stars only because of actual location not services.

Clinic staff is friendly, provider was great with my kids (which why I'm giving them the 3 stars). They screwed up and only got 1 child's insurance done correctly. Not sure why they weren't both managed the same way. Received a call from billing for these "self pay" claims and was accused by Lorena (billing office) of not providing the information previously which was incredibly unfounded. I provided the insurance cards but it was the front desk that didn't get it added to her chart for some reason. I don't appreciate being blamed for a mistake on the DH side. She then refused to look further on her end to correct the mistake and get the insurance information updated and put the burden on me which I also don't appreciate when she could EASILY look up on her end.

This clinic has recently changed its policies in a way that no longer feels inclusive to all patients. Unfortunately, a language interpreter was not provided for my mom, and the staff was unwilling to accommodate that essential need. Additionally, it seems the clinic staff are not all on the same page, leading to miscommunication and frustration for patients. This experience was disappointing and concerning.

Decent experience and friendly staff. ✔️ Checkin Checkin and flow was confusing. You checkin online to say you’re “here”, then walk up to “window 5” to sign-in, then get called up to another window to officially checkin. Why so many steps? I invested the time upfront to fill out all of the previsit paperwork to avoid wasting time but my time was wasted waiting at the clinic anyway. 🏥 Patient Care I was in for a flu + COVID-19 vaccination. Staff administering the vaccine was a little knowledgeable but couldn’t answer basic Qs about the vaccine itself (eg the 24-25 COVID-19 vaccine is an updated version to target newer variants of the virus… the staff told me it was the same as last year, just a booster). Really disappointed in my experience here. The assigned dentist was in and out of the room in less than 5 minutes, failed to inform me that the facility could not sedate me for my ORAL SURGERY, also failed to prescribe any antibiotics for my gum infection or any pain treatment medication for the debilitating pain I was in. In addition, I was given absolutely no information on how to effectively prepare for the surgery. No mention of recovery times, food intake or restrictions, or anything similar. Instead, the nurses gossiped about how bad of a job the other in-facility nurses were doing, right in front of me, while multitasking their jobs inside my mouth. It was grossly unprofessional.
