I cannot recommend Dr. Kumar, her medical assistant Leidi and her team high enough! From the initial consultation to the post op care, the level of communication and comfort provided by Dr. Kumar and her staff has been exceptional. She is patient, thorough, and has a wonderful way of making you feel like her top priority.

I was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia in early September and in and out of Banner Desert Hospital…horrible pain and sick all the time. After a CT scan and endoscopy confirming my stomach had pushed into my esophagus, I began searching for a surgeon to perform the fundiplication to repair it. It took so many doctor visits to find a referral to Dr. Daveshni Kumar, who some called the best surgeon skilled in robotic assisted surgery to repair the roaming hernia. Unlike some surgeons, it was fairly easy to get an appointment with her. Her manner is kind, informative, and friendly. Dr. Kumar (and her staff) is a life-changing doctor and surgeon and a master of her craft and GI specialty. She listens and confers with her colleagues to find the best course of action and treatment for complex GI issues. She is the best in her field and I recommend her whole heartedly. The surgery in this case was not an emergency or life threatening. However, left unattended, a serious infection could have occurred which would then require a more serious procedure. Upon arriving at the office, the front desk staff were professional and promptly greeted me. Immediately, it felt like I was a person, not just a number. After being escorted to the examination room, the nurse took my vitals and engaged in a pleasant conversation. This reinforced my feeling of being acknowledged as a human being. After she left, I somewhat expected to have to wait 15-20 minutes like I typically do at other offices. I was surprised when the Dr. Kumar entered the room. She called me by my name, she read and retained the information on my chart as she explained what was happening in my body. S
