CVS Pharmacy

The pharmacy staff is wonderful! The regular staff- not so much! Here is a picture of Mount CVS in the parking lot. Skiing is free!

I’ve been a client of this CVS store and pharmacy for 15 years, and I consistently see that the staff at the pharmacy is not helpful nor they have a good attitude towards clients. But I never wrote a bad review before. It’s the closest CVS to my home and I go there often, so I am cordial and friendly with the workers there, I generally let things slide to avoid conflict. But today I had it! (I’d like to add that the people working at the general store area, and the general store registers, on the other hand, are very helpful and nice.) Today, I arrived at the pharmacy directly from the urgent care, with my sick daughter on tow. She was prescribed an antibiotic. The CVS computer did not remind me around Nov 16 that my Accu-Chek prescription could be renewed after 90 days had elapsed. My prescription expired a week later and had to be written again. When the new prescription came in it was missing some code that said Medicare would pay the whole cost. CVS did not notice this error and wanted me to pay $240. for the test strips. When I got my new refill I had lost another half day and an extra trip to CVS. The CVS computer services are erratic.

Last time, I was given the wrong dose (20 mg) of doxycycline for a tick bite (should have been 200 mg). Luckily, I read the paperwork and realized the mistake when it mentioned dental prophylaxis and that this dose would not fight an infection. Getting the correct Rx took three trips to this pharmacy. And it could have resulted in a serious Lyme infection had I taken the dose given to me. Worse because I would have thought that I had been successfully treated after taking the antibiotics. Yesterday, I arrived at 1:31 pm for my son’s Rx and was told by the man at the pharmacy register to come back after 2 because they were on their lunch break, which started at 1:30. I appreciated the patience, focus, and teamwork of the pharmacy team. They worked at my problem until they resolved it and still managed to provide great service to other customers at the same time. Very professional and very appreciated! Also, med prices are out of control btw...the self pay price of my 2 meds was over $1200 for a 90 day supply, but luckily I have insurance so my actual amount ended up being under $200. Thanks CVS pharmacy for sticking with running numbers through several times even though the system was being buggy!
