Craneville Place of Dalton Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center

I had an illness that required rehabilitation at Craneville. I found the place to be very good. The nurses are excellent, the P.A. and Dr were very good. The rehabilitation people were caring, sincere and effective. I was there approx 3 weeks total but it was a meaningful experience

My mother had her second below the knee amputation in February, 7 months after her first one. This time however, she required more rehab to get stronger. We were very hesitant for her to go to a skilled nursing faculty. Well, Denise made this transition easy as pie. She even greeted my mom when she arrived with flowers in hand. Two women from rehab were waiting for her arrival in her private, very spacious room. I can’t say enough good about her stay there. The nurses, CNA’s, rehab department, everyone we encountered were helpful in every way. Kind, caring friendly faces. The rehab department really was amazing. My mother spent 10 months at Craneville Place. The entire staff was so kind to her and went above and beyond to make her feel at home there. Because of all of these people who do a very difficult job every day, my mother’s last months were as good as they possibly could be. It was a difficult decision to have to turn her care over to strangers and have it be out of our own hands. From the first moment that she arrived there, she knew that these people cared. She gained a whole new set of friends and as a family, we took comfort in knowing she was in good hands. It’s never easy, but, it was as good as it possibly could be.

My husband has been a resident at Craneville Place in Dalton for 2 years, 8 months, and 22 days. From the very first time we visited the facility and the day a staff member came to visit him at our home, we were impressed by the loving kindness and sweet care that he enjoyed. Before Covid, 19, I visited him daily, participating together in the warm days on the patio, and indoor activities such as bingo, religious services, programs and sing a longs provided by community groups, and special day celebrations. There was so much fun and activity to keep him engaged and moving physically as well as mentally. The time of lock down has been extremely difficult. Placing a loved one in a nursing home is a difficult decision. Even when you know it’s the right decision, it’s still heart wrenching and stressful. Having to place both my father and younger brother when their health necessitated more care than my mother and I could provide, was the toughest decision I’ve ever made. Craneville Place immediately put both our minds at rest. Their attention, dedication, empathy, compassion and love shown towards the residents quickly put our fears to rest. The care they both have received is far superior to that which I have seen in larger, more modern nursing homes. Whether it’s short term rehab or long term care you are looking for, you’d be hard pressed to find better care anywhere.
