Country Care Manor

I went to visit a friend and was impressed with everything I saw. From the friendly check in process to the cleanliness of the facility and room. All residents were being attended to and majority were set up for breakfast. I saw the staff dressed as elves and one was Santa Claus. Place had staff everywhere and everyone was busy. I got a good feeling on this place. My friend was happy to be there doing therapy. I would recommend from what little I saw with this one busy morning I visited.

CCM is a horrific facility and way over priced for the quality of care you receive. While the nursing staff, CNAs etc are generally good and caring, the administrator is a disaster. He doesn't care about the residents, he allows residents to be neglected and in the case of my elderly father, with stage 4 lung cancer, he inflicted extreme mental torment and cruelty by 'patient dumping' my father after his staff had inflicted a near life ending injury. The injury required emergency hospitalization, several transfusions and a week in the hospital, when he was well enough to be discharged Country Care Manor/Chase Thompson, refused to take him back, to the nursing home that he resided in for nearly 4 yrs. Visited a friend. She’s been there about two months. She has a wound which is being cared for by their team. The Manitnis always peaceful, clean, and fresh. Patients move about the place and seem very happy and at-home. The staff is friendly and very helpful. She’d been to another home around Alamo Heights, but this was way better. I’d recommend it to anyone.

Staff is friendly and helpful without making you feel like you’re bothering them. From getting registered as a visitor at the front desk, to the kind offering of options for my mother’s coffee when she asked if she could get a cup, to the huge smile from the occupational therapist when he introduced himself to the family, and then all the people freely moving about in the facility when we walked through, I’m completely comfortable leaving my mother in their care for her rehabilitation after a fall. It’s close to home and not in a high traffic area so that’s a plus, as well!

Staff is great, very helpful and caring. The place is always clean and I highly recommend this home to all my friends and relatives. Top quality in all aspects.
