CORE Orthopaedic Medical Center

I have been with Core Orthopaedic for almost 3 years. Unfortunately, thru Workman's Comp. The Dr's and Health Professionals deserve 5 Stars. Sadly, the admin staff of the Workman's Comp Authorization/Coordination Team get 1/2 Star. Each time, the state insurance co approves the authorizing treatment and the "pharmacy" to send the medication via mail to Core and I with an expiration date. . I usually wait several weeks "hoping" Core will call me to set up dates to administer treatment; not the case. As the expiration date becomes closer I always need to make many many phone call for them to get the process moving i.e. sending the RX to the authorizing pharmacy. By the way The "team" NEVER, EVER pick up the phone. I'm constantly leaving messages that most likely fall on deaf ears

My wife visited the facility today for an appointment as referred by the urgent care facility. She broke her foot during the Carlsbad Marathon, but didn’t know until the next day. Because she ran on it for so many miles, we were worried the clean break in her metatarsal needed surgery. The service at the front office of the center was fantastic. However the person who saw my wife, Christine (physician assistant) down played my wife’s worried inquiries about when she can apply weight to her foot again. She simply said, you should be walking on it now. She also gave no protocol for how to progressively integrate back to normal use in the next four weeks. She told my wife, that it’s up to us if we wanted to return for a checkup. She gave no warnings or recommendations for care. She a

My wife suffered a fracture of the olecronon (elbow joint portion) of the ulna. Dr. Justin Chan didn't push surgery, but explained the healing process with a small metal plate vs. a closed reduction. She opted for the surgery, and almost 3 weeks later, everything is proceeding on schedule, as Dr. Chan and a CORE P.T., Kaylee, guide her through the process of safely regaining mobility. No complaints here -- these people are professional, competent, and caring. Can't do better than that!

Terrible experience. I had one visit for a shoulder problem.. they charged me 580 dollars for a 30 minute consultation and never received a call back or any type of communication after about a follow up. I left numerous messages for the surgery department and Dr. Zogby in particular. I will not go back

Thoughtful care, past and present Some years ago, Dr. Gregory Loren performed surgery on my right knee. The skill, professionalism, and follow-up PT I received left a lasting impression, even though reviews weren’t common at the time. More recently, after a sudden injury to my other knee, I called Core Orthopedics in a panic. Tina returned my message quickly, listened with genuine care, and explained the insurance limitations that meant I couldn’t be seen as a patient. Even so, she took the time to talk me through the next steps and offer thoughtful guidance — knowing full well there was no benefit to the practice in doing so. That kind of compassion — combined with my earlier experience of excellent surgical care — speaks volumes about the integrity of this practice.
