Connecticut Children's NICU at UConn Health Center

If I could give a zero I would. My son was there for 5 weeks until I had him transferred to another hospital, even the doctor at the new hospital couldn’t understand what was taking so long for his discharge. (I personally think they like the insurance money) One staff member told me I couldn’t hold my son unless it was feeding time due to inconvenience of moving wires around. My son was more of a test subject than anything else. The nicu itself is wide open with babies lined up like test rats but instead of cages they are in plastic bins. There is absolutely no privacy unless you are extremely lucky and find a portable panel available (but that’s highly unlikely). If you end up there I recommend transferring asap. So many horrifying experiences in that place within 5 weeks. It’s scary to

Respiratory Therapist there does nothing. Watch a MD struggle to do the most basic procedure. Cant imagine having my wife deliver here , or even coming here for a scratch

It's because of their hard work that my baby girl is heathly and home with us. I was scared but every nurse here was so caring and compassionate. Thank you
