Dr. Gehrmann and his staff are a refreshing experience to healthcare. Unlike other massive medical groups, Dr. Gehrmann spends quality time with his patients to try and get a true understanding of the problem, and provide reassurance and a plan of care. He has many accolades in addition to being the Team Physician for Rutgers Newark. We are deeply grateful for his knowledge and skills.

I called to schedule a sports-medicine visit for chronic shoulder and knee pain. The receptionist repeatedly insisted I narrow down to 2 body parts - left or right shoulder or left or right knee, then they kept insisting that I obtain shoulder X-rays before any clinical evaluation, ignored that my pain is mostly soft-tissue, and refused to discuss alternative approaches. Her tone was blunt and dismissive, leaving no room for questions. "Like I told you Sir, in order for the doctor to see you, he needs to see recent X-rays". I hung up and will seek care elsewhere. A practice focused on musculoskeletal injuries should start with a physician assessment and a not demand blanket imaging from the front desk.

We have a huge and very active family! Dr. Gehrmann has been taking care of our family’s nicks and dents for as long as I can remember. From our 90+ granny( both knee surgeries)to kids middle school and high school sports injuries. Our kids love him! Dr. Gehrmann is friendly,personable and professional.

Had a problem with my knee...and the level of quality care i received was beyond my expectations. Dr. Gehrmann was very personable, and took his time evaluating me. His advice, and treatment plan was spot on and my knee is better than ever!!

Dr Gehrmann is a wonderful Orthopedic specialist. I have had the experience for a patient with knee problem - when Dr Gehrmann was able to restore the knee motion after surgery with another provider. Great outcome!!! Dr Gehrmann has wonderful bed side manners and professionalism. His staff are hand selected with the same qualities that he values. For myself - Dr Gehrmann helped to problem solve my recurring knee swelling and pain for months. He reassured me of the diagnosis and recommended the most appropriate level of treatment for me.
