It is sad to read the bad experiences others had at College Vista while ours has been the opposite. Our father who is terminally ill with stage 4 cancer and other health issues has been in and out of hospitals and transitional care. CV was recommended to us and after our initial visits to check it out, we were hopeful. He's been there now for two months and we are all grateful for the care he is receiving. When he had an episode and had to go to ER, the staff responded swiftly and provided excellent communication. When he tried to get up on his own and fell, they quickly took measures to safeguard his bed and surroundings and again provided excellent communication. He had a horrible case of bed sores and with Daniel's expert care, it is getting noticeably better. The physical and occupat
My aunt was admitted to this facility after having a major stroke. She was unable to walk, use the bathroom, or eat on her own. The therapy she received here was life changing. After a few months of intensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy she was able to get well enough to safely come back home. The rehab director Penny and director of nursing Vanessa were super helpful and responsive to our needs. I can't thank College Vista enough for the attention she received.
My grandmother’s first experience at any rehabilitation center was at College Vista Post Acute Center, and as you can imagine, she was very nervous and frightened. From the moment we arrived, the staff, along with Administrator Armando and Supervisor Blanca, were incredible. They were patient, attentive, and made her feel safe, acknowledging her feelings and answering all of our questions. During her stay, my grandmother even participated in activities for residents and made new friends, which was amazing to see. We actually had to encourage her to come home because she didn’t want to leave! To this day, she still talks about how kind and friendly everyone was, how well they took care of her, and she insists that if she ever needs care again, we’ll bring her back to College Vista. We are
College Vista Acute Care Review – Compassion Lost Behind Administration My experience with College Vista Acute Care has been heartbreaking. While I want to acknowledge that the nurses and caregivers who helped my mother daily were kind, respectful, and made her smile, the administration and management of this facility showed a complete lack of compassion and accountability. Communication was almost nonexistent. I had to constantly reach out for updates and was met with cold, unhelpful emails instead of personal calls. What’s worse, I discovered that the facility was not checking my mother’s blood sugar levels even though she’s diabetic — something clearly listed in her medical records. I had to be the one to alert them before they took any action. That kind of neglect is unacceptable and
My mom is 92 years old and after a fall in which she broke her knee, we were devastated thinking about her recovery process at her age. We were terrified thinking about where she would do her recovery process after her knee replacement and thankfully she ended up at College Vista. From the moment we walked in, we had a meeting with the social worker Blanca who told us that there would be a meeting with all divisions of the center to discuss her recovery plan. From that moment on I knew Mom was in good hands. We were also worried about a language barrier since Mom only speaks Spanish, and thankfully so does virtually all the staff. I’ve come to get to know everyone at CV on a first name basis, and everyone could not be sweeter. They have all helped Mom feel at home while she’s away from hom
