Coastal Pediatric Associates Mt. Pleasant

This place has gone downhill and I will be attempting to find another pediatrician as soon as I can get off the waiting list. It no longer offers extended hours which was a great feature. You used to be able to book an appointment online but now it is a 30 minute wait on hold. The last straw was getting seen in a room with no paper covering on the table and a leaking faucet with a crusty edge that screamed "legionnaires disease". Two star review vs one because the doctors are nice and somewhat competent.

Someone said it below, so I’ll reiterate that I’m leaving this review to hopefully save someone future grief. Do yourself a favor and find a different provider. We used to love coming here, but the attitudes of the people who work here is awful. They make you wait an hour or more (with an appointment) and then spend 2 min rushing through their checklist. They barely examine your child unless you keep persisting. We’re in search of a new provider currently.

We started with CPA 13 years ago. We loved it at the start, but as clear in other reviews, it has gone downhill. Their weekend hours have changed or are no longer existent. Scheduling is painful with ridiculous wait times. When they switched chart platforms to MUSC, they made a mess of the information and did not message it at all - that I can tell. If you are looking for a doctor, I would not recommend this practice.

We used to love Coastal, but it's legit been terrrrrrrible lately. There was a 34 deep wait on the phone today just to make an appointment - yesterday it was 37! Y'all, they should not even be counting at that point. I even hung out for a bit on the call today to see how fast the number went down, and after about 3 or 4 mins we were still at 33. Do the math there for how long I was about to be on that call. They removed the ability to online request appointments about a year or so ago, but also there's no call back methodology, NADA. Needless to say, I hung up and we're heading to urgent care, which is pretty much what we've had to do every time we've gotten sick in the past year with Coastal. I accompanied my daughter on an appointment for my grandchild. I’ve never been to this place before. First thing I noticed was the young receptionist who didn’t acknowledge us or make eye contact. Then she spoke so soft we could barely hear her. Then hands us a piece of paper without any friendly instructions. Still didn’t make any eye contact. Might need a lil more training on how to work with the public. Or they need a friendlier more professional clerk. I looked for a name tag, but if she had one it was hidden. Then we waited over 45 minutes. That’s the longest I’ve ever waited to see a doctor in my life and I’m very old.
