Coastal Kids - Thousand Oaks

I’m beyond frustrated with Coastal Kids Pediatrics and will never be bringing my child back. They repeatedly called me to schedule an appointment for my son, so I finally agreed — but I made it very clear that I did not want to be sitting around waiting forever. I even arrived 20 minutes early. The front desk told me that was “fine” because they take patients back as they check in. That turned out to be completely untrue. I waited over an hour just to see the nurse, and then another 20 minutes to see the doctor. If you’re running that far behind, be honest about it instead of misleading parents who are trying to manage work, school, and their kids’ schedules. To make matters worse, the exam room was dirty. In a pediatric office, cleanliness should be non-negotiable. It’s unacceptable.

I am extremely happy with Coastal Kids Thousand Oaks. My daughter was already a patient of Dr Tahan's before we came to Coastal Kids. Their office is extremely clean and organized, the front desk staff and all the nurses and the doctors are all so nice. It is really nice because if our doctor is not available I would absolutely feel comfortable going to another doctor in that practice. It's a really nice addition to the Conejo Valley.

We've seen the doctor twice and each time she has greeted us with the question is this your grandpa? This is irritating to me but it really disturbs my son. And going over the growth charts she spent way too much time driving home the point that my son was in a very low percentile of growth for his age. She is Asian, we are Asian, she doesn't know his mom is 4'10. The charts are based on American kids. My son is already grappling with the fact that he's smaller than the other kids in his class and doesn't need to hear this. They also ask a lot of personal questions that I don't feel are relevant.

Dr. Tahan was very compassionate and did a thorough job checking my daughter out and sending us home knowing she was taken care of.

We have been seeing Dr. Chi for almost 15 years, ever since we moved to this area, and we couldn’t be happier with the care our two children have received. My son has had severe reactions to certain antibiotics and other triggers, and before he turned six, he was hospitalized twice at Children’s Hospital LA. Both times, Dr. Chi guided us through very difficult situations and truly helped save his life. More recently, he experienced another reaction, and once again Dr. Chi provided a thorough evaluation and clear, practical guidance for treatment. She always takes her time—never rushing through visits—and makes sure all of our questions are answered. We consistently leave her office feeling reassured and supported. Dr. Chi’s knowledge, professionalism, and caring manner are exceptional. S
