Yesterday, I had to leave work early in the morning because I developed a sore throat from a viral infection I caught from my little one. I went to the Express Care on Tiffany Avenue and was seen by APRN Aaron Simmons. After examining me, he said I had an ear infection and postnasal drip (which I do suffer from). This infection has been going on for weeks, and the sore throat had resolved after a course of steroids I completed about two weeks ago. However, it returned. After I came home and woke up from a nap, the pain intensified. I decided to go back to urgent care to see if I could speak with the nurse practitioner again and ask whether steroids could be prescribed. They never look at you and the face, in your eyes and communicate with you but the frustration doesn't stop there. Ever want to ask a question of your doctor's nurse? Good luck! BEWARE! Deceptive practice and committing insurance fraud. I went here for my annual wellness exam because it is 100% covered. To my surprise I received a bill for $224 for depression and anxiety screenings. Not once did I even say the words “Depression” or “Anxiety”. I have no medical history of depression or anxiety so this is not something I came here to discuss. When I visited the office to question my bill, they could not even tell me what the depression and anxiety screening is. They said because I answered a question that WAS ASKED TO ME - is the reason why I am being billed. The office manager Dorothy called me and said the questions are part of the wellness exam. I was on the phone with an older family member during their visit to Cleveland Clinic and overheard the nurse practitioner, Ashley, speaking to them in an incredibly rude and dismissive way. Her bedside manner was unacceptable — cold, condescending, and completely lacking compassion. I was honestly shocked and felt compelled to write this review. The management and Doctors need to have a discussion with Ashley as soon as possible. Healthcare is about care/compassion, and someone with that attitude has no place in it. After seeing other negative reviews, I can now understand why. Very disappointing experience.
