Claysville Animal Care

We have been seeing Dr. Wilson and staff for almost 15 years. She was wonderful when we had to make difficult decisions regarding two older boxers awhile ago. Fast forward to last week-I called the office on Monday needing to schedule an appointment for our senior pug. She was almost 14 years old. She was definitely needing to be comfortable and laid to rest. After placing me on hold,she came back to say that the soonest appointment would be Wednesday at 4pm. My poor,Shelby, was not comfortable and ended up passing the morning of that appointment around 2 am. When I called the office on Wednesday,I requested that Dr. Wilson please call me. I also explained to the person who answered what had transpired. She was kind and apologized. She did seem as though she felt awful for our situation.

Over the summer, we took our dog to the vet for what we thought would be a simple hotspot on the side of his face. The first visit included antibiotics and shaving some of the area. We asked if he would need a cone and they said that he probably would not need it because the antibiotic would take care of it if he scratched at it. They also sold us a bottle of beta-gen spray to spray on it to help with healing. Fast forward and he was not improving so we took him back for another visit and they shaved more fur than we thought that they would. At that visit, we got a cone and more of the beta and spray as well as some wipes to wipe him off to keep the area clean. We did that for a while, but again it continued to spread over the area that they had shaved more fur from. When we called to see

Absolutely love this veterinary clinic! The entire team is incredibly kind, understanding, and amazingly capable of caring for your beloved pets. The new building is so nice and the parking lot makes it so much easier to get pets safely inside. I've never felt like I was waiting a long time to get called back. The prices are incredibly reasonable without giving up the quality of care. As long as they will continue to have my pets as patients I will continue to make the hour drive to this wonderful vet.

Disappointed in the staff. I had an appointment for 6:20. Whilst having an emergency at work which is an hour away, driving like a maniac to get home to get my pet to drive to the clinic which is a half hour away from my home I call on the way there to ask if it would be okay that I am ten minutes late. They then proceeded to put me on hold for 10 minutes to then come back and say that they would need to cancel my appointment. Meanwhile I was already three quarters of the way there. I somewhat understand needing to reset my appointment but there was no need to keep me on hold for ten minutes. Out of all the trouble I had gone thru already, I was just disappointed the staff did not want to stay an addtional 10 minutes last evening.

Awesome place for the fur turds. Wonderful staff and they are great with the animals. Not very expensive compared to others.
