Do not recommend Dr. Carl Punla, request the other doctor on duty, i learned theres always two. He did not listen to me as a patient explaining injury, or why I was there for this visit, he spoke down to me and cut me off when i tried to explain that i was there for an xray as ordered. He talked about this as an "emergency setting" whereas (fortunately) i was not there for an emergency and compared me to other patients verses me as a present patient. I expressed wanting to walk out of the appointment after getting different info from my previous visit about the protocol and the doctor's demeanor and lack of care. My discharge notes mention I was verbally abusive, and that I insisted on additional imaging whereas the previous doctor called for the xrays, their notes were not up to date. A
I visited this location last month on a random Tuesday during the Microsoft cloud service outage so I could not get to my digital insurance card. Between that and the pain I was experiencing I began to cry out of frustration but the lady at the front desk was understanding and patient. The xray lady was amazing and the doctor heard all my concerns. Overall I was in and out for a total of 45-50 minutes including the tears. Thank you all for your hard work.
To Clifton CityMD: An elderly patient came in to be evaluated for an injury. Their concerns were dismissed, the injury was not even reviewed, and they were sent away without any aftercare instructions or recommendations for intervention. Within 24 hours, the patient was in the hospital. This is something that should have been recognized and recommended when the patient initially sought care here, but the “care” provided was completely unacceptable. If a patient needs emergency services outside of your facility, it is your responsibility to clearly communicate that to the patient and their caregiver. Failing to do so can be life-threatening. At the bare minimum, the patient should have been guided toward the appropriate level of care. Instead, they received dismissal and refusal of care

I had an extremely disappointing experience at CityMD due to the bedside manner of Dr. Michael Bayless, MD. From the moment he entered the room, he was dismissive and spoke to me in a condescending tone. A visit to urgent care already comes with stress, and a physician’s role should be to provide reassurance and professionalism—not make patients feel belittled or brushed off. This experience fell far below the standard of care I expect from CityMD and from a licensed physician.
