CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center

My father had outpatient surgery yesterday and I am so grateful for and impressed by the quality of care he received. Every step of the way from walking in the door to discharge home, we encountered warm, helpful staff who really went out of their way to make him comfortable and feel secure. His entire care team was approachable, communicative and just plain nice. Their staging system helped me navigate his progress and stay updated. I want to give a shout out to Recovery RN Tanya, you were just amazing and I cant thank you enough for being there with my dad and helping us through this. I am a nurse also, back in Los Angeles. I am really glad my father has Christus St Vincent for his care. What I experienced yesterday with him puts me at ease, he is in good hands.

Used the emergency room for my toddler. Doctors were fine and we were seen relatively quickly, but everything was filthy - from the waiting room to the private room we were held on. Blood splatter on the wall and grime everywhere like the room hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. How can a hospital get away with this lack of sanitation!?!

My mother encountered an emergency transfer to the location followed by a 2 week stay. Dr. Kim was an amazing asset as an Orthopedic Surgeon in strategizing and implementing the best treatment plan possible! The nursing staff, even the house keeping and nutrition staff was very attentive, professional and kind. We remained informed and comfortable with all services provided which made for a smooth transition in care. Extremely grateful for everyone!

It was my first hospital stay … at 74. From the second I entered Emergency at Christus St Vincent, to the minute I left there a day and a half later, I only have high praises to bestow on the team there. And I include ALL. I was admitted within five minutes to one of the rooms on the emergency ward and a CT scan was performed within half an hour. A Tele doctor was waiting for me on the screen in my room as I got back there, discussing the results. The nurses .. Judd, Cynthia, Faith were attentive and polite to my many questions and queries. (and I had many!). Judd, a lifesaver - who lent me his phone charger so I could watch “The Morning Show” pretty much the entire time I was there! To the staff sitting at desks whose names I did not get .. one of whom graciously got me a toothbrush

What can I say? I have been hospitalized a number of times over the years, and Christus once again wins the prize for the worst experiences I’ve ever had. The only redeeming thing about my stay was that two of the nurses in the emergency department were brilliant, and Dr. Kloss (spelling?) was outstanding—hence the extra star. For years my family has referred to this hospital as “Fort Pox”, and even though Christus Health claimed that everything would be changed and improved, I see no difference whatsoever. If your hospital visit is something you can plan in advance, I would recommend finding another facility.
