Have lived with pets in 5 states in 12 cities having veterinarians in each. The Choice practice headed by Dr Shaw is the very best! Excellent care, reasonable charges, open to questions / concerns, flexible in emergency care, responsibly returns calls, friendly, & ethical. We have 9 pets- 8 Westies & 1 Ragdoll. As breeders, we believe we are getting the very best care & guidance for the pets we love! 🥰

I live out of town and needed to find a vet quickly for an eye issue with my dog on Monday 2/23/26. I feel so lucky to have found Choice - the person who answered the phone was really friendly and helpful and she was able to get me in right away. They had my vet records from home before I arrived just 25 min later. I had a very short wait to get in the room and was immediately assisted by the associate (I'm so sorry I didn't get names!). She walked me through the expected process, brought in the vet who diagnosed the issue and fully explained what the recommendations. When my local vet told me to say good-bye and he only had a few weeks left, I searched the country for a vet that could help me. By a miracle, I found Dr Shaw's previous office that gave me his info after hearing my plea. I drove from Ft Lauderdale to Punta Gorda with my pup, hoping for a better prognosis. I had posted about ideas of where to get my bunny spayed. Since they are considered “exotic” pets, it was very hard to find a place first of all and secondly even harder not to break the bank paying $600+ per animal. Well I called probably every place in the area from humane society’s to vets. The most affordable place was Choice Veterinary Clinic in Punta Gorda. It’s right off 17 so I only had to hop on 75 for a quick drive from North Port. I contacted them and they answered immediately. All the ladies were so kind and knowledgeable. They gave me an estimated price over the phone and got me in the next week for a consultation. I ended up taking both my bunnies because why not. They talked to me and did a check up. $85 per bunny which isn’t bad since it’s the pre exam for a spaying. The do
