CHKD Pediatric Urgent Care

CHKD Urgent Care is a real lifesaver! My daughter and I had a great experience on January 6th, 2026, when we visited for an eye injury. Dr. Kristy was fantastic, and the staff were all incredibly kind and helpful. We returned on January 10th, 2026, after an accident at school, and the staff were again gentle, kind, and accommodating. I'm thankful for their top-notch care and compassion. Everyone was super kind and gentle! From the front desk staff, security, Amanda (who did vitals), Gerald (who did X-rays), and everyone in between... they all treated us with kindness and care. 🙏

We got to the Urgent Care a little before 8 (their closing time) and was seen in a timely manner. We had the pleasure of seeing Emily Schank, MD as our provider and she was amazing! Not only did she make sure our baby was treated promptly, she even took the time to educate us parents on the signs to look for when at home. I never felt rushed (knowing we were literally the last ones there an hour after they closed) she asked me multiple times if I had any questions and gave me time to process all the information. She went above and beyond to make sure the note has all the info about this time at urgent care for his PCP and even recommended follow up care for longevity of his treatment. I’ve been here several times throughout the last couple of years with 2 kids for a variety of issues, because kids are kids. Head injuries, eye injuries, HFM, ear infections, etc. I have to say that the staff are always nice and accommodating, even when I can see they’re very busy/overwhelmed with long lobby wait times and having a rough day. You can tell everyone there loves kids and genuinely cares about what they’re there to do. I appreciate them for being there for my family when I need them.

The lady working at the front desk checking in people was very rude and disgruntled. CHKD needs to put someone who is kind and pleasant at the front. Maybe it was because I was white that she treated me so disrespectful as I walked in the office front door. She was very nasty as she directed go the to IPad and check in with a sassy attitude. I have never been at this Chkd and we were he for an X Ray- there were two buttons to press. Urgent care or Labs and Xray. I clicked X ray because that was what we were there for. It then directed me back to the front and she talked to me as I was supposed to know to click the urgent care button. Then again she did not treat or talk to the other two black men that came in rude. She was laughing and kind and smiling while interacting with them. I am

You're better off going to CHKD hospital. These people could have killed my 5 year old. 2 urgent visits within 10 days for them to only diagnose her with strep and "stomach bug" brought her in on the 5th for a strep diagnoses and again on the 13th. Which then led us to a 4+ night stay in the hospital where are still currently at. Brought her in to be rushed back 10 min after stepping foot in the door. Immediately knew she needed fluids. Her body was crashing hard and her sugars dropped to 67... now we formally have a diagnoses of strep, flu, & adenovirus, along with severe dehydration. Pretty sad when they hospital is shocked about how negligent they were with my babys care. This facility told me to give it until tuesday (today) to see how she is and then bring her back if not better.....
