Extremely stressful experiences all around. Been going here for years; one kid with autism, one with epilepsy. You NEVER get the reassurance of speaking with a person. Impossibly frustrating to navigate the phone system, difficult to cancel or reschedule appointments. Running low on life saving meds and didn’t realize you need a refill, even though the next appointment is months away? You have to rely on a robocall system or online portal messaging system (which took a patient advocate to help me set up during a hospitalization.) Having a sick kid with a life altering diagnosis is stressful enough; this place has only added more misery to an already heartbreaking life circumstance. Stuck here because where else is there to go? Boston is out of network and a 1-2 hour drive. At least I know
This place is along with RI healthcare is a complete joke. We have been waiting for an appointment here for over two years for my daughter. A week before our appointment we received a call and they said the doctor would be out that day and they would have to reschedule and that someone would reach back out. We never got a call back to reschedule so I followed up. The lady on the phone was incredibly rude and after going back and forth she gave me a date of August 6th , which was only a few weeks out I thought no big deal. Except it was August 6th of 2025 another year away. So after waiting two years for an appointment which THEY canceled on us, they pretty much told me tough luck you have to wait another year. I’ve asked to speak to a supervisor multiple times they keep telling me I’d get
Absolutely horrible experience, over 2 years with one provider that even with a child with obvious autism traits, in many programs and unable to be in a regular grade, provider not only refused diagnosis, used old no longer accepted ways of confirming diagnosis and retired basically saying you'll probably get a diagnosis somewhere else but not here and told us good luck, second provider on day one after several months basically refused to help either and kept denying what we see every day along with other services see, absolutely horrible experience, I hope they really stop treating children cause it's apparent they can't handle what they are supposed to specialize in, beyond shameful
Impossible to get an appointment with genetics (we had 4 appointments scheduled since January 2019; they cancelled and rescheduled 3 of them and then said we would need to be waitlisted. Now I am scheduled for December). There is no other option in RI, which makes it frustrating. Angelica, who handles patient scheduling, is wonderful. She is very professional and it isn't her fault that the doctors routinely cancel appointments.
My child has been on a waitlist since 2021. I was told it might be long but i was assuming a few months not a few years. Every time i call the doctor to check in she tells me i should’ve been seen already and that she will have scheduling call me to set up my appointment but that call never comes. My child’s pediatrician is also acting like she should’ve been seen already so i’m not sure if it’s this place that’s the problem or just negligence on behalf of the specific doctor we are working with. Either way i’m frustrated that my daughter is basically being forgotten about consistently.
