We understand CHOA serves a high volume of patients, and while the long wait was extremely difficult with a sick 4-year-old, the care we ultimately received made a meaningful difference. After being unable to get a same-day appointment with her pediatrician and due to the time of day, we were advised to come to CHOA. As expected, it was extremely crowded. We waited about two hours just to reach triage, and after a strep test were told it would be another hour for results. We also asked whether one parent could wait with our child in the car so she could lay down and rest, but were told this is not allowed due to policy and that we had to wait inside, which was very hard for a young, uncomfortable child. Once we were finally seen by Dr. Krish, our experience improved significantly. He was

DON’T!!!!!!! The staff were really nice. Very clean, spacious environment. However, it was a total waste of time and money. We paid $150 to have our children seen and treated, only to be turned around. The doctor didn’t seem very knowledgeable or concerned. We were told to just continue doing what we are doing at home (giving them over the counter meds). Our children are obviously very ill, which is the reason we brought them to URGENT CARE. The “doctor” never ordered a swab test or checked their ears, throat, or anything vital, and my children are literally coughing up bloody mucous, and crying from the chest pain right in their office. She just stood there looking clueless and talking about stuff that didn’t even matter. We were literally there for 45 minutes, which is a huge red flag.

My daughter had been sick for 5 days. I couldn’t get any answers. I checked in online before making my way down there. When I arrived the receptionist asked me if I saved my spot online to which I replied I had. She gave me a number and told me to have a seat. I waited about half an hour (the wait times were 2 hours 30 minutes.) When called into triage, the nurse was very helpful and understanding. She was very professional (I didn’t get her name.) She swabbed my daughter’s nose to check for flu and Covid. She was really quick. When we went into a room, our doctor was Dr.Woods-Bishop. My daughter is Autistic and non verbal. She has sensory issues and was highly skeptical when getting her ears checked. Dr.Bishop took the time to make my daughter aware of her hands at all times and made sure

During my recent visit, I interacted with Dr. Dixon, and I am writing to formally express my concern regarding her interaction with my 4-year-old daughter. During the encounter, Dr. Dixon told my child “not to touch her” and proceeded to state that she needed to “understand boundaries.” While I fully understand the importance of infection control, especially during flu and COVID season, the manner in which this was communicated to a young child was inappropriate and distressing. Children of this age are still learning social cues, and a pediatric provider should be prepared to engage with them in a developmentally appropriate and compassionate way. The interaction made me extremely uncomfortable to the point that I felt the need to hold my daughter’s hand to prevent further reprimand or

Dr. Montminy was Wonderful. I appreciate her help, her kindness, her attention, her reactions with my 10 year old who was interrupting when it was about my 3 year old. She showed great expertise and was so willing to help with any and all questions that I felt like I knew more and was more confident about taking care of my child. I am moving soon but I hope I find a doctor for my children as amazing as she is.
