CHOA needs to step up and meet the standard of care provided by elite hospital systems like Boston Children’s and UCSF. These institutions prioritize collaboration, accurate communication, and respect for complex cases. CHOA should be operating at that level for every patient, especially those with rare diseases. I’m giving 2 stars only because some nurses and staff were truly outstanding. A charge nurse, the nurse assisting him, and Dr. P went above and beyond. They listened, advocated, and ultimately found the real cause of our son’s severe cough—something that had previously been dismissed. But overall, CHOA needs major improvement in communication, coordination, and bedside manner, especially for rare disease patients. We repeatedly experienced: • Poor communication between CHOA phy

We were sent here from Douglasville, and let me tell you if I could give all the nurses on the 2nd floor a reward, I would! 🥰 My daughter Destiny was sent here due to Dehydration, Pancreatitis, acute kidney injury, as well as the flu. They treated my daughter with the absolute most amazing care! I can’t thank them enough. 🥰♥️ 1000/10 recommend you won’t regret it trust me. 😌

I went in this morning with my husband to the ER for my son who has been sick for a while and today seemed VERY ill. Every single nurse and care provider was so nice and helpful. The nurse practitioner was caring, kind, and knowledgeable. She gave me a lot of advice and agreed to set my mind at ease and do bloodwork when I was very unsure about leaving without checking everything. She was so empathetic and I appreciated her not brushing off my concerns. The nurses we saw today were just a phenomenal. They all came in to check on my son in a timely manner and were very good with him. Thank you so much for hiring such amazing staff. No one enjoys going to an ER but I’m so grateful you are there. God bless every single person who cared for us today.

Well, my kiddo has not had the best of luck getting IVs in the past. At his last visit to another ER in early 2025, they missed his vein and ended up with 7-8 different puncture sites. Eventually, they used an ultrasound. Katie from the IV team spoke to my 3-year-old and engaged with him, and he really relaxed with her. She was quick and got the vein on the first try. She was amazing and I really enjoyed this children’s hospital. The doctor and nurses were wonderful as well. Great patient care!

My 2yr old had RSV and pneumonia and was transferred to this hospital. Absolutely best experience in a hospital. I know everything that is happening. They have been attentive and informative. Great with my child and reminding me to also take care of myself. They don’t do anything without my consent and understanding. Cafeteria food is consistent and great for a hospital. So spending the night and staying with her is great. My baby’s condition has improved overnight and they aren’t rushing us home. They’re making sure they hit every avenue before leaving so we can stay home. I’m deeply greatful for the team that helped my baby girl get better. And an amazing team that genuinely care not just at work. I’m going back today to stay with my baby tonight I wanted to show my appreciation.
