Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Allergy and Immunology - Center for Advanced Pediatrics

We were referred to the CHOA Allergy specialist from our pediatrician, Intown Pediatrics, after an allergic reaction (hives) our 3-year old had. We are unimpressed with the service and communication from the allergy dept. We saw Dr. S Kumar and he came into the room for maybe 10 mins tops, was vague in asking questions and did a scratch test on my daughter’s arm without checking on the result of the scratch before he left the room. He said he’d be back with more info, but never came back just had the nurse come back in to relay we needed blood work from the lab downstairs. We felt it was unprofessional for him not to talk to us about next steps or see if we had any further questions. (The nurse that day however, was phenomenal, so friendly and kind! Highly recommend! One comment though: to those that complain that the waits are long - this is because at this clinic, the staff and physicians meet with patients to fully address their needs. As a result, sometimes a doctor goes over the allotted time for a patient, which results in a delay for the next patient. However, this doesn’t mean they short the next patient their full allotted time. They just go over time again for the next patient. This is what you want and get there: patient centered (not clock centered) care. You want a doctor and medical team that listen to your concerns and fully investigate the problems…even if that means that the clinic doesn’t run on a super tight schedule where they’re on time…but the patients are essentially rushed out the door.

We've visited the facility 10+ times for my son's allergy testing and peanut oral immunotherapy. I would give them 10 starts if I could! I've had nothing but stellar experience. We've interacted with 15+ nurses and every single one of them were very patient and caring. Amanda and Grace have been ones we interacted the most, and they treat children like superstars. Grace even danced for my son to entertain him during his allergy testing!!! They truly know how to interact with children and over-anxious mom. Ms. Codi Horton, our nurse practitioner, has been the best healthcare provider our family has ever witnessed. She is extremely thorough, always pleasant, professional. Cons: the first appointment available was 4m out! Pros: Chelsea Leef and Nurse Dana were amazing! I had plenty of time to discuss my concerns. I left with lots of options and answers. I was seen on time, no waiting. Beautiful new facility.

We been here since 8:45 and we are just now getting called back. Everytime i come here it’s the same thing, when you have an appointment the doctors are supper late but if you come late they want to cancel you appointment it’s not fair. I don’t recommend this clinic to no person with a child. There should be a state organization that should fine the whole clinic. They shouldn’t schedule you for an appointment if they can’t honor or make make it. I could have taken my child somewhere else it’s 10:26 and we just not going to the back sooo UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
