Chester's Markets John Day

Wow they have really improved the variety store selection. But an item pretty good size was marked down an was happy we scratched up the money for and called to make sure it was still there. We told Chester assistant or who ever was on phone the item was leaning against canning jars right up front by old doors at window next to a smaller one drove in and sure enough was there But we sure do appreciate Chesters and what they do for Grant County Safe Holliday Merry Christmas

Have visited this store multiple times when we are in town. Decent liquor selection. We usually just stop for snack food. They have always had what we are looking for!

I’m going to share a quilters secret- this place is a Diamond! They have FABRIC at amazing prices! NO one to cut it- but they have it there! I waited for 20 minutes and asked 4 different people. NO one ever showed up. So I couldn’t buy any fabric, but it was fun to see I guess! Got some semi hard and old chicken tenders for the road, deli was eclectic, help was friendly corn dog was rubbery, but sufficient for road food. Thankful for the store being open. Maybe next time I will get to adopt some fabric, not just pet it and wish!

Great for a small town because it had variety and decent hours. It really was a general store so most things were available here. Some people complained about prices in their reviews, but they are good for a remote location, I would know (grew up on a ferry service only island).

Extremely pricey, nice people...be careful of the Meat on sale it can be spoiled, also don't buy anything on clearance it is usually rancid. I bought sunflower seeds last week that were spoiled
