Charlotte Scott: My Massage Doula

Charlotte is a brilliant body worker and skillful educator while she works. I started seeing her in my first pregnancy to help with general relaxation but I learned so much about birth and my body/baby in the process. With my second pregnancy, she was a *key* part in helping him turn from breech near 36 weeks and I was able to go on have a natural birth and I know positioning helped tremendously. And in my 3rd pregnancy, she was once again a resounding voice of wisdom and knowledge who provided such care. Massages with Charlotte are so so so much more than relaxation (although that's great too) but if you are pregnant, see Charlotte!

Charlotte is amazing. I saw her for massage/bodywork when I was 37 weeks pregnant and my baby was breech. I had an ECV scheduled, but hoped to have the baby turn before that was necessary. When I reached out to Charlotte, she did everything she could to fit me in for an appointment as soon as possible, and I was able to see her the day before my ECV was scheduled. My appointment with her was incredible. It was a very relaxing and enlightening experience. I wish I had found her earlier in my pregnancy! She was so kind and supportive of where I was at in my pregnancy. Of course this is no guarantee for anyone else, but I believe my appointment with Charlotte was instrumental in leading my baby to flip on her own. I recently had my second child on 1/7/19. I saw Charlotte for Maya Abdominal massage in my 3rd trimester. The last session with her was the day before I went into labor! Coincidence? I think not! This time around my labor was 7hrs vs 23 hrs with my 1st. I attribute my smooth labor to my sessions with her, applying the spinning babes moves (weeks leading up to) and chiropractic care (throughout my entire pregnancy) to the birth of my daughter. Charlotte is very good at what she does and has a very calming energy. As a health practitioner, I'm always looking for other great professionals to refer to my patients and she is exactly that. I look forward to seeing her for my 6wk postpartum massage.

Not only have I worked very closely with Charlotte Scott co-managing patients in the birthing world for 10+ years, but my family has had personal positive experience with her work. She gave regular massage care to my wife during her pregnancy with our twins and I know without a shadow of a doubt her healing hands were a huge part in relaxing my wife's Womb this allowing BOTH babies to turn naturally into the optimal vertex birthing position. Not only is her massage, childbirth education and doula care nothing short of outstanding, her energy and soul are full of light and love. If you are looking for a true healer to be a part of your journey, Charlotte Scott is the person for you. I can’t recommend her enough.❤️

She does have a soothing presence, and she did hold my hand as I was sewn up, but I would absolutely never hire again. Worthless as a doula because she was only there for roughly the last twenty minutes of my birth. She didn’t believe I was in labor because basically I have a super high pain tolerance and was coherent throughout the process. She refused to refund any portion of the fee, saying that it was some kind of ‘incipient birth’ even though I’d been in touch with her all day. So on top of feeling completely dismissed and abandoned, I also felt like I’d been rather cheated, too. I’d let her know once my water broke in the early morning and was in touch with her on the phone several times.
