I was referred to Dr. Charles Franco for emergency gallbladder removal by my primary physician. I went to Dr. Franco’s office for initial consultation prior to scheduling this much needed procedure and was immediately impressed with the exceptional professionalism of the entire office staff. Everyone was extremely courteous, knowledgeable and kind. Lori the receptionist and Suzanne the nurse are true gems! Kudos to Dr.Franco and his stuff, both in his office and in the operating room. I needed inguinal hernia repair surgery. It had to be done in St.Peter's hospital as I was covered by insurance from this hospital where my wife worked for 27 years. She asked around for a recommended surgeon in this specialty and everyone told her that Dr.Franco is the best. So, I went to Dr.Franco and asked for open surgery (as few people I knew were in pain for 2 weeks after laparoscopic hernia repair, and also because I was afraid of general anesthesia required for laparoscopic), but Dr.Franco told me the laparoscopic is better in my case. I am so happy I went with his opinion. The surgery was in the morning, I walked the same day, and did a two-hour hike three days later. It was a bit painful to sit up in

I’m glad to see others had positive experiences here, kudos to them. Unfortunately, that was not the case for my family. When I brought my mother in, we were treated dismissively and without compassion. The doctor showed no interest in helping her and repeatedly stated that she “wasn’t his patient,” instead of showing any concern or empathy. It was disheartening and upsetting to witness. No patient or family member should ever be made to feel like a burden when seeking care.

Dr. Franco and his staff at the office are truly amazing. I had been diagnosed with inguinal hernia last month and I was struggling to find a surgeon who could schedule my surgery sooner as it was too painful to wait for over a month. I read reviews online and saw Dr. Franco who accommodated me within a week of initial consultation to review my case. He is very knowledgeable and experienced in treating this issue and did an amazing job with my surgery at St. Peter's Hospital. It already three weeks after my surgery and am doing a lot better, except with intermittent pain that I must overcome shortly. I must thank both incredible nurses at his office for their warm reception and kindness and also thank the staff at St. Peter's Hospital.
