Chandra Abhishek DMD - Pittstown Smiles Family Dental Care

I travel over 1,000 miles to see this dentist because he is SO good!! Super chill, really nice, and very caring and careful. He fixed my chipped tooth and helped me learn about the health of my teeth/gums and gave me lots of great advice. 10/10, would HIGHLY recommend. Any bad reviews make no sense to me--seriously, he's awesome!!

A friend from Montana was visiting a few weeks ago and developed an abscessed tooth. I called the Doc to see if he could recommend a surgeon, he spoke to me personally and when I explained the symptoms he said that I should just bring him in right away. He stayed open after hours for us (on a Friday night), and as it turned out, probably saved his life by extracting the tooth on the spot. He has taken wonderful care of me and my 80-year-old mother now for years, always listening and working with us to solve our complex dental issues. I am so grateful and thankful for his dedication to all of his patients, even those he may never see again.

I’ve being seeing the same dentist for 10+ years, but recently moved and needed someone closer. I found Pittstown Smiles the most convenient due to location. I found the dental hygienist very warm, nice and caring. However, I needed to get a 2nd opinion after seeing the dentist, Dr. Abhishek. He said I needed a filling where my tooth felt no pain or discomfort and that I needed a day and night mouth guard due to medication I’m on for my mental health. I’ve never heard this before and felt very uncomfortable with this information. My old dentist never said any of this. The dentist I saw for the 2nd opinion said nothing was wrong with my teeth and I didn’t need anything done. She was much more professional, didn’t make me feel bad about my teeth or bad about the fact I hadn’t had a physical

Looking at one of the reviews, seems like somebody had a bad day. I have been coming here for years. First with Dr. Testa and now with Dr. Chandra. Great skills, great demeanor. I needed a root canal and cap. Not exactly a great way to spend an afternoon, but Dr. Chandra did a terrific job. He really cares about his patients. His office staff and hygenists are excellent as well. No hesitancy in fully recommending him, and have done so on several occasions.

I had gone to the former Dentist at this location since I was about 13 (I’m 42 now). I felt the Dr spent more time lecturing me about flossing than anything else, so I changed dentists in 2015, right after he started. Literally years later I received a bill for $116 dollars...They claim it was from 2015. I called, and they claimed the bill slipped through the cracks and I owe the amount. I’ve refused to pay up to this point, as I don’t recall the office visit. They are threatening to take me to collections now...
