My 25 year old daughter had a stroke while in Long Island visiting her boyfriend. Her arm had become numb and then her hand paralyzed. She thought she had a pinched nerve. Upon a recommendation of one of her best friends who had moved to LI, she was taken to Stoney Brook Hospital as her friend said if a neuro issue go there, also thinking a pinched nerve. She was given several scans and determined she had a stroke. She was admitted to the stroke unit for further observation and testing. My daughter had previously been diagnosed with an undifferentiated connective tissue disorder. These Drs did tons of blood work and tests to try and determine a cause. They decided she may have a rare progressive neurovascular disease. The staff, nurses and Drs were all so amazing. They made a very scary si
