Ms. Helen was outstanding in working with my 5-year-old daughter on her speech development. She conducted a thorough assessment and employs a teaching style that combines patience, kindness, and a sense of fun, while keeping my child engaged and focused throughout each session. We have had a truly remarkable experience with Helen and Cary Speech Services after moving to NC a year ago. My middle son was diagnosed with an expressive speech delay at the age of 2 years old and later found to have severe childhood apraxia of speech. We have worked with 5 Speech and Language Therapists (SLPs) given that we have also lived in Arizona and Minnesota, and Helen is by far the most comprehensive, results-driven, and dedicated therapist we have ever worked with. I believe we were meant to be here, in part for my son to have the blessing of such amazing strides with his speech and language struggles. Stay away from this lady Helen and practice ! She is unethical, discriminates against autism individuals, and doesn’t work with kids with ANY disabilities! ..she needs to retire as she is 85 years old. I specifically told her about my kid on the phone, she made an appointment for my kid to be seen, then refused to evaluate my kid at all. She should not be practicing as a speech therapist at all! Apparently if your kid has a disability she’ll send you away to the speech therapist office downstairs which is very unfair to that office. The secretary downstairs told me she makes multiple parents frustrated, and cry by pushing them away due to their child having a disability. Discrimination? Yes, that’s discrimination . She should not practice in the healthcare field.

We've had the immense pleasure of working with Ms. Jan for our 5-year-old, and the experience has been extraordinary. My daughter went to Cary Speech for a series of sessions to strengthen her R sound. Jan was fantastic about making each session fun, energetic and positive.
