After my dog Cooper began experiencing respiratory symptoms, my veterinarian referred us to Carolina Veterinary Specialists, specifically the oncology team. Unfortunately, they discovered a nasal tumor along with multiple swollen lymph nodes. I decided to move forward with palliative radiation therapy, and from day one the radiation oncology team has been incredible. Dr. Kelsey and her team have provided thoughtful recommendations and have been extremely thorough in explaining Cooper’s condition. They have kept me informed with detailed updates and have patiently answered every question I’ve had with compassion and sound medical guidance. The entire process has been so smooth, and I am grateful to have the option of paying for the full course of treatment at the end rather than upfront.

Cannot say enough about how wonderful Dr. Nanfelt and her team are! We took our puppy, Milli, to their Huntersville location and were then referred to the Matthews location for an ultrasound. She was diagnosed with intussusception and required surgery. Throughout the entire process, they provided us with updates both before and after surgery, and the front desk team patiently answered all of our calls as very worried dog parents. Everyone was incredibly informative and took the time to answer all of our questions regarding our puppy’s care. We are so grateful for them and would definitely recommend! 😊

We recently had to bring our Chihuahua to Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Matthews under very difficult circumstances. From the moment we walked in, every staff member was incredibly kind, gentle, and accommodating. They took the time to listen carefully to my concerns, were perceptive about my dog’s needs, and showed real compassion toward both of us while we were under a lot of stress. Even in the most difficult moments, their professionalism never felt cold—there was a genuine warmth and empathy in the way they treated us. Big thank you to Dr. Kelsey and the entire radiation oncology team. Skyla graduated radiation therapy today and is doing well. The front desk staff knew Skyla by name as soon as she walked in and everyone mentioned how sweet she is. There was always someone available to answer any questions we had and we appreciated the update text after her treatment was finished. We're hoping this treatment combined with the chemotherapy she's receiving will give us a lot more quality time together.

CVS has amazing staff and doctors. Our 11yo Husky “Sasha” had a large mass on her liver which turned out to be cancer. Dr. Estabrooks (Oncologist) consulted with us after he reviewed her files and recommended surgery. We agreed and 12 days later the surgery was performed by Dr. de Vleming. Sasha did great and we were able to carry her home the following day. We traveled 285 miles one way to have CVS treat our baby and the staff and doctors treated us as if we’d been regulars there for Sasha’s entire life. The cost was within the perimeters they had discussed with us, no surprises. The tumors are gone and our babies prognosis is very good. We will recommend Carolina Veterinary Specialists every chance we get. This is an awesome practice.
